1. Malacca for Linux (PC version)

REQUIREMENTS:

An x86 PC running a recent version of a GNU/Linux distribution, X Windows 4.1 or above running at 16/24 bit depths.

INSTRUCTIONS:

The static build is distributed as a distribution independent tarball. After downloading the tarball, extract the same. The tarball will extract itself into a directory called malacca-0.8. Use the "malacca" shell script within this directory to execute malacca. Packages for RedHat, Mandrake and Debian are also provided. Install them as you would install any other package for your distribution and malacca can be executed from /usr/local/malacca. If you install packages, you would also need to install the supprting packages that are provided here for download. 2. Malacca for Linux (Simputer/StrongARM Version)

REQUIREMENTS:

A StrongARM based machine running Linux, X-windows 4.1 or above running at 4/16/24 color bit depths. The PicoPeta Simputer is one device that meets these requirements.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Download the provided tarball and extract the same into your machine starting from the root (/) directory. This build is a trial version and hence the functionality of executing backend scripts and smartcard integration is not enabled.
